“Creativity takes courage.”

My artist journey
As a teenager I grew up with the believe that making art is about making beautiful things and that having talent and going to art school are essential for becoming an artist. Later on, through intuitive painting I have discovered that making art is about expressing myself and that I can define my own meaning of beauty.
As an adult, I have struggled with making space in my life for the artist within, next to my day job. I believed that I could only do one thing if I want to succeed in life and being multi-passionate was not a good thing. After working with a coach I finally started creating and I have learned that my passions can support each other and stimulate my creativity even more.
After a few years into painting, I still had a hard time calling myself an artist as I didn’t believe my work was good and consistent enough. While practicing Yoga I have discovered that I had the tools to create consistency, be focused and feel confident. By sustaining a daily practice for myself, I managed to plan and organise my first exhibition, create my best work and was finally able to call myself an artist.
I have found out that it takes commitment, discipline and deep listening to create authentic work.
My Personal Journey
My transformative journey through art and yoga began in 2011 when I first landed in Bali, Indonesia. What I had intended to be a six-month sabbatical, turned into 10 years of deep personal work and creative exploration.
These recent years have been the richest of my life so far and I am grateful for each and every experience that has contributed to my now colourful life.
As a child growing up in Romania, my dream was to become a fashion designer. The wish of becoming an artist was first ignited at the age of 7 when I attended an art camp and discovered my desire to paint. Making my own clothes in my teenage years made me most happy and yet, after high-school I began studying economics and computers. It seemed a business career was inevitable at that time.
After graduating I found myself living at the edge of the creative world. Working for 7 years at Tommy Hilfiger in the fashion industry, I was supporting other people’s creativity while neglecting my own. Although my position at Tommy Hilfiger appeared to be a wonderful career, I often felt that something was missing.
At the young age of 32 I felt tired, drained of energy and experienced regular and severe back pain. So in an attempt to help myself feel better, I enlisted the help of a coach. My coach suggested I reconnect with my childhood passion and join a painting course.
Intuitive painting taught me to flow more with life and inspired me to travel and build a new way of living.
After a few months through the painting course I felt called to quit my job and go travel, so I listened to that inner voice and booked a flight to Bali to join an Ayurveda detox program. This program introduced me to Yoga and when it finished I decided to participate in a yoga training in Thailand.
When it was time to fly back to Europe, I decided to change plans. The same inner voice called me back to Bali, to pursue the path of unknown, exploration and adventure. Doors began opening for me and I was offered a job at a local yoga studio in Bali . While deepening my yoga practice, I started painting, dancing, designing clothes and jewelry and have continued to explore the realms of creative living. I knew creating with my hands was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I slowly began sharing these passions with others and guiding people on their own creative journeys.
Discovering Yoga and Ayurveda sparked my curiosity about holistic lifestyle and alternative approaches to health.
For more than 10 years I have been practicing and studying Yoga and Ayurveda and have completed certified trainings in Bali, Thailand and India. During my 5 years working in an Ayurvedic health centre I have come to discover my passion for creating personalised yoga sequences for others and helping people find a practice that speaks to their unique structure, constitution and needs. Since 2017 I have been organising creative holidays in Bali and guiding people through yoga and creative experiences.
Into my 40’s I can now embrace all the different identities that exist within me and wish to be expressed; the yogi, the teacher, the artist, the coach, the business woman. I enjoy creating a life which includes them all. I have discovered that defining myself through one of these identities limits me from becoming all that I am.
My mission is to live a healthy and creative life and in doing so, inspire others to do the same, so they may feel alive and connected to themselves.
